At Rockbeare Primary School, we see education as a partnership between parents and school and we believe in consultation and communication. The school is organised into three classes and the staff receive the children in the classrooms and accompany children to the door at the end of each school day so that any matters of interest can be communicated immediately. If a more extended discussion is needed, staff are always willing to see parents as soon as possible.
A newsletter is sent out on the first day of every month to keep parents informed about what is happening in school as well as half termly overview curriculum sheets informing parents of the work to be covered during that half term. We run a variety of workshops for parents and children during the year such as Literacy, Numeracy, Science, ICT and phonics.
Parental assistance in the classroom is always welcome. You may have a skill or interest that the children will benefit from so please contact us if you would like to help.
During the Autumn term we hold Parents' Evening when your child's progress will be discussed in terms of the new school year and any changes ahead. You will be given a choice of time and date so that a mutually convenient appointment can be arranged. We hope to see all parents at these interviews.
In the Spring term we again hold a Parents' Evening when your child's progress to date will be discussed and ways suggested on how you can support them further at home.
At the end of the Summer term you will receive a formal report on your child's progress and key areas for development for the next school year. The teachers will always be available to talk to you about your child's report; you can make a specific appointment to talk to the teacher in confidence.
